FAQ

What services do you provide?

CBB Counseling and Holistic Healing provides individual counseling and therapy to adults.  We additionally provide Reiki therapy as a complementary or stand alone service.

What can I expect from Therapy?

You can expect a supportive, warm and open environment to freely explore difficult experiences or themes in your life, free of judgement. Therapy is a collaborative process by which you can expect to gain insights, learn to follow your intuition, heal from loss or trauma, and learn coping tools to manage symptoms and gain communication strategies.

Therapy sessions are generally weekly and last 55 minutes, although some insurance companies limit sessions at 45 minutes.    As goals are met, some clients reduce their sessions to meet less frequently.  Therapy is a fluid process and we will work with each individual to create a treatment plan that works for them.

What can I expect from Reiki?

A complete Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed recipient who is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair. Most commonly, Reiki is offered through light, non-invasive touch or hovering with the practitioner's hands placed and held on a series of locations throughout the body.

The experience of Reiki is subjective, changeable, and sometimes very subtle. People often experience heat in the practitioner's hands, but sometimes the practitioner's hands feel refreshingly cool. Other common experiences are subtle pulsations where the practitioner's hands are placed or cascading waves of pulsations throughout the body. People often comment how comforting they find the experience of Reiki to be. Some people fall into a deep, sleeplike meditative state. Sometimes the experience of Reiki is dramatic, while for other people, the first session in particular may be uneventful, although they feel somehow better afterward. The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.

Reiki is cumulative and even people who don't notice much the first time usually have progressively deeper experiences if they continue. Besides the immediate experience of the Reiki, you may notice other changes that continue to unfold as the day goes on: perhaps stronger digestion, a sense of being more centered and poised and less reactive, and sleeping deeply that night. Reiki can be done as needed, with each client determining what cadence works for them.

Do you accept insurance?  What are your fees if I'm not using insurance?

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, United Healthcare PPO, and Cigna PPO for therapy.  We strongly reccommend that you contact your insurance provider to verify coverage prior to starting therapy. If not using insurance, the fee is $150 for an initial assessment and $130 per each subsequent session.  For those not using insurance, we provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Reiki sessions are $100 for 45minutes or $130/hour. At this time, Reiki is not covered by insurance.
